The Bangalore Bioinnovation Centre is proud to present a one-day Faculty Development Programme (FDP) on Entrepreneurship titled "From Problem Seeing to Opportunity Thinking." Scheduled for Tuesday, 28th April 2026, from 09:00 AM to 05:30 PM, this online session is designed specifically to introduce faculty members to entrepreneurial mindsets and behaviors. Through the application of Design Thinking fundamentals and hands-on experience in idea generation and validation, participants will be equipped with the necessary methodologies to effectively bring entrepreneurship into their own classrooms.
Executed by INNOVA SCAPE, the programme features an engaging lineup of session highlights, including Theatre in Action, The Origami Challenge, and a Roadmap for Change. This inclusive session also enables participants to create user-centric problem statements through detailed case studies. Don’t miss this opportunity to transform academic perspectives into entrepreneurial ventures.

Bangalore Bioinnovation Centre (BBC) is hosting a hands-on BioPython Boot Camp designed for researchers, innovators, and professionals interested in applying Python for biomedical literature mining and research insights.
This practical session will introduce participants to the fundamentals of Python-based data extraction from PubMed, helping them learn how to retrieve, structure, and analyze biomedical research data using Biopython and Entrez tools.
During this session, participants will explore topics including Python basics, understanding PubMed and Entrez, performing PubMed queries using Biopython, fetching abstracts, and extracting structured data. The workshop will also include an interactive mini project to help participants apply what they learn in a real-world context.

Bangalore Bioinnovation Centre (BBC), in collaboration with the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), is organising an offline hands-on workshop on the ICMR Patent Mitra Initiative.
This session aims to create awareness and provide guidance on patent facilitation and tech transfer for medical innovations.
ICMR Patent Mitra is a national initiative by the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) aimed at strengthening the intellectual property ecosystem in the medical, dental, allied health, and life sciences research community.
The initiative operates under the guidance of NITI Aayog, in partnership with the Department of Pharmaceuticals (DoP) and supported by DPIIT, Government of India.
Under this initiative, BBC will serve as the key enabler across Karnataka, supporting innovators in accessing patent awareness, guidance, and facilitation support.
The program provides free support to innovators for understanding patent processes and protecting their medical innovations.
Startups, particularly those recognized by DPIIT, can benefit from comprehensive support including:
Patent Mitra also provides handholding support for technology transfer, including:
All of these services are provided without any facilitation fee, making it a highly valuable resource for early-stage and growth-stage startups in healthcare, med-tech, diagnostics, medical devices, digital health, and biomedical research.
For startups and innovators in healthcare, med-tech, bioengineering, and life sciences, securing intellectual property protection is critical for protecting innovations, attracting investments, and enabling successful technology translation.
This workshop provides a valuable platform to learn directly from experts and explore available government-supported IP facilitation mechanisms.
