ELEVATE 100 Program / Idea2POC

The Elevate 100 Program is an initiative launched in 2017 by the Department of Electronics, IT, Bt, and S&T, Government of Karnataka. It aims to identify and nurture the Karnataka’s most innovative startups. The program offers a comprehensive support system, including funding, mentorship, and access to key resources to help startups scale their operations. Selected startups are eligible to receive a one-time grant of up to ₹50 lakh to develop prototypes and make their products market-ready.

The winners came from four distinct schemes under the ELEVATE program:

ELEVATE Kalyana Karnataka, which promotes entrepreneurship in the Kalyana Karnataka region
Amrita Startups, focused on supporting innovation and entrepreneurship among OBC entrepreneurs
ELEVATE Unnati, aimed at identifying and nurturing startups led by SC and ST founders

As an implementation partner for the Elevate program, BBC provides comprehensive support to startups by offering access to advanced laboratory facilities, mentorship, and networking opportunities. This collaboration enables startups to develop their prototypes, validate their technologies, and accelerate their journey to market readiness.  

BBC’s involvement in the Elevate program underscores its commitment to fostering innovation and entrepreneurship within Karnataka’s vibrant startup ecosystem. By providing essential resources and support, BBC helps startups transform innovative ideas into impactful solutions, particularly in the life sciences domain.

So far, BBC has supported a total of 144 Elevate startups. For the year 2024, BBC is supporting 10 startups under the ELEVATE program.

Grass Root Innovation

The Department of Electronics, IT, BT and Science & Technology, Government of Karnataka launched the Grassroot Innovation Program in 2015 to identify, promote and support innovation at the grassroot level and upgrade them for wider applications and to reduce the drudgery of rural households. Also, assistance shall be provided to grassroot innovators Farmers, Artisans, Laborer’s, Technicians, and others to perfect their technology and to commercialize their innovations.

The applications are evaluated by the Expert Approval Committee and based on the recommendations, a maximum financial grant of up to Rs.4 lakhs is provided to feasible projects. BBC is facilitating 5 startups of 2024 batch under Grass root innovation program. BBC provides comprehensive support to grassroot innovators by offering access to advanced laboratory facilities, mentorship, and networking opportunities.  

Rajiv Gandhi Entrepreneurship Program (RGEP)

RGEP is an early-stage funding initiative aimed at fostering innovation and entrepreneurship among young graduates and aspiring entrepreneurs in Karnataka. The program supports idea-stage startups, encouraging a shift from job-seeking to job-creation through innovation-driven ventures.

Selected innovators receive a monthly grant of ₹25,000 for 12 months to support them through the ideation phase, culminating in a Prototype, MVP, or Proof of Concept with business potential. Innovators will be attached to designated K-Tech Innovation Hubs for mentorship and progress monitoring throughout the program. Currently BBC is supporting 5 innovators under this program for the year 2024-2025. Where we have a subcommittee member monitoring their monthly progress before releasing the stipend. BBC also provides comprehensive support to innovators by offering access to advanced laboratory facilities, mentorship, and networking opportunities.
