Role Overview
The ClimaTech Manager at the Bangalore Bioinnovation Centre (BBC) will lead strategic initiatives focused on environmental sustainability, carbon management, and the circular economy. This role is pivotal in positioning BBC as a leader in the green economy by driving innovation in carbon capture, establishing carbon credit frameworks, and spearheading "Beyond Bangalore" activities to scale climate-resilient solutions across Karnataka’s emerging tech clusters.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Climate & Carbon Initiatives: Oversee projects related to Carbon Capture, Utilization, and Storage (CCUS) and biological carbon sequestration. Develop Net Zero roadmaps.
- Agri-Tech & Regional Sustainability: Lead Agri-Tech sustainability projects and identify ClimaTech and Agri-Tech startups in regional hubs.
- Operational & Technical Oversight: Supervise labs dedicated to environmental biotechnology. Ensure all green initiatives comply with national environmental standards.
- Commercialization & Talent Development: Commercialize sustainability services and design training programs.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Education: Master’s or Ph.D. in Environmental Science, Agriculture Biotechnology, Chemical Engineering, or Sustainability Management.
- Expertise: Deep understanding of carbon markets, circular economy models, and climate-smart agricultural practices.
- Leadership: Strong project management skills.
