Role Overview
The Senior Site Engineer will be responsible for overseeing the overall maintenance and smooth functioning of the Bangalore Bioinnovation Centre. The role involves managing MEP systems, laboratory instruments, and infrastructure facilities, ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant operations across the premises.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintenance Leadership: Lead and manage the overall maintenance team for day-to-day facility operations.
- MEP Operations: Oversee installation, operation, and maintenance of MEP systems (Electrical, HVAC, Plumbing, Fire Safety).
- Laboratory Equipment: Ensure proper functioning, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting of lab instruments and equipment.
- Maintenance Scheduling: Develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance schedules.
- Compliance & Safety: Monitor facility performance and ensure compliance with safety standards, statutory regulations, and audit requirements.
- Vendor Management: Coordinate with external vendors, contractors, and service providers for maintenance and repairs.
- Documentation: Maintain records of maintenance logs, breakdown reports, and compliance documentation.
- Infrastructure Uptime: Ensure uptime of critical infrastructure systems including power supply, DG sets, UPS, and water systems.
- Efficiency Initiatives: Drive initiatives for energy efficiency, cost optimization, and sustainability.
- Emergency Response: Handle emergency situations and ensure quick resolution of technical issues.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical / Electrical / Civil Engineering or related field.
- Experience: Strong experience in MEP systems and facility management, preferably in research labs, biotech parks, or industrial setups.
- Lab Maintenance: Knowledge of laboratory equipment maintenance is highly desirable.
- Compliance Knowledge: Familiarity with safety standards, AMC management, and statutory compliance.
- Leadership: Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Coordination: Ability to coordinate with multiple stakeholders and vendors.
- Decision Making: Good problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
Preferred Attributes
- Industry Experience: Experience in biotech companies/incubation centres, R&D facilities, or innovation hubs.
- Specialized Systems: Exposure to clean room systems, BMS (Building Management Systems), and utilities management.
- Certifications: Certification in safety or facility management (desirable).
